Your account
You sign in with your phone number and are responsible for what happens under your account. A family is created by its organizer, who can invite and manage its members.
Your content
The recordings, stories, photos and everything else you add belong to you and your family. You give us the permission we need to provide the service (storing, organizing, translating and showing it to your family), and nothing more. We don't sell your content or use it for advertising.
Storytellers' consent
Only record someone who knows they're being recorded and agrees to it. Storytellers decide who can see each of their stories, and can hide or delete them.
AI-written content
Stories, translations and answers are written by AI from the recordings and can contain mistakes. Every paragraph links to the original recording, which is the record of what was said.
Acceptable use
Don't use Heardloom to record people without their consent, to harass anyone, to upload illegal content, or to try to reach data outside your own family.
Paid plans
Every storyteller's first recording is free. The family plan is billed monthly or yearly through Stripe and renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do any time in the app; the plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. Stories already written stay your family's after you stop paying.
Ending the service
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that seriously break these terms. If we ever stop offering Heardloom, we'll tell organizers ahead of time and offer an export.
Disclaimers
Heardloom is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the past twelve months.
Changes
If these terms change in an important way, we'll tell you in the app.
